OVWF is committed to bridging the gap between incarceration and independent living, providing essential housing, employment, education, and life skills support to help formerly incarcerated youth build a positive future.

At One Voice WeKare Foundation (OVWF), we are committed to breaking the cycle of reoffending by ensuring that young people leaving detention have the support, stability, and opportunities they need to reintegrate successfully into society. Our Youth Reintegration Program focuses on housing, employment, education, and life skills, providing a structured pathway for young people to rebuild their lives.
Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol Support

OVWF Wellness & Recovery Program
Many young people leaving detention struggle with mental health, trauma, or substance abuse issues, which can increase their risk of reoffending. OVWF provides culturally safe, trauma-informed support services.

Driver’s Licence & Transport Assistance

OVWF Drive to Independence Program
A driver’s licence is essential for employment, education, and independence, but many young people leaving prison lack access to transport or support to obtain a licence.

How we Help
  • Funded driving lessons and learner’s permit support.
  • Licence reinstatement support for those with suspended or expired licences.
  • Access to public transport cards & bicycle programs for those without cars.
Education & Vocational Training

OVWF Skills for Life Program
Many young people in detention have disrupted education and limited qualifications, making it difficult to find work. OVWF supports youth in returning to school, enrolling in vocational courses, or pursuing higher education.

How we Help
  • Funding for TAFE & university courses.
  • Scholarships and tutoring for youth who want to complete high school.
  • Hands-on training in trades, IT, business, and creative industries.
Safe & Stable Housing for a Fresh Start

OVWF Housing Support Initiative
Many young people leaving detention do not have a stable place to live, which increases their risk of homelessness and reoffending. OVWF works closely with housing services, crisis accommodation providers, and government programs to ensure that young people have a safe and stable place to stay.

How we Help
  • Emergency accommodation for youth leaving detention.
